Johnny Drille

Born John Ighodaro, Johnny Drille is a singer, songwriter, producer and sonic engineer. He got his first moment in the sun when he appeared on Project Fame West Africa in 2013, stealing viewer’s hearts with his dulcet vocals and unassuming charm.

He released his debut single “Wait For Me” in 2015, which led to his first Headies nomination for Best Alternative Song. In 2017, he was finally inducted into the prestigious Mavin roster. Since his activation, Johnny Drille has released three projects- his debut album “Before We Fall Asleep”, “Home” EP and “Hard Guy Confessions” EP with Don Jazzy. “Before We Fall Asleep” earned him an AEUSA Award nomination for Album of the year, “How Are You My Friend”-the lead single off “Home”-marked his first top 10 hit on Nigerian Apple Music Charts. Johnny Drille has been nominated for over 15 Headies Awards, including Best Vocal Performance (Male), Best Alternative Song and Best RnB song.

Beyond his undeniable musical genius, Johnny Drille has also been able to nurture and build one of the strongest fanbases in the Nigerian music scene, boasting an ever growing community that continues to sell out venues in his name. Since the first edition in 2018, Johnny’s Room Live has been a staple event in their calendars, demonstrating the influence he has amassed over the years.
