Oladipo Eso, best known by his stage name LADIPOE, is a Nigerian rapper and recording artist. Ladipoe is known to his fans as the “Leader of the Revival” (LOTR), a nickname alluding to the breath of fresh air that his flow, sound, and performance style brings to the African rap landscape.
LADIPOE joined the Mavin stronghold in 2017 as the label’s first rapper, with the Altims-produced launch single, “Man Already.” His debut project, “Talk About Poe” followed in 2018, and was met with widespread acclaim. With impressive numbers now the norm, Ladipoe’s biggest song came in 2021. His single “Feeling,” featuring Nigerian breakout star Buju, amassed over 80 million streams within 4 months of its release, becoming the “song of the summer” in Nigeria and beyond. “Feeling” earned him many prestigious award nominations, most notable among them being the BET Award for Best International Flow.
Not slowing down, 2022 saw LADIPOE add ‘Big Energy’ to his growing repertoire of hits. In the same year, he got nominated for 5 Headies awards, -winning the category for Best Rap Single- his second Headies in just under 2 years. In 2023, he upped the ante with singles ‘Guyman’ and ‘Shut it down’. Gearing up for a statement-making 2024, the rapper dropped- Hallelujah- a stellar record with newbies, Rozzz and Morrelo, which has now earned him two Headies nominations for Rap Single of The Year and Lyricist on a Roll.
