Produced under his alias “Madd Thing”, Boy Spyce’s “Achalugo” bears all the markings of a Nigerian wedding classic- a sweet folk drumbeat, dramatic declarations of love and a lively chorus complete with the name of the artist’s muse. Jeriq delivers a suave verse that gives the track an infectious flair, a welcome addition to the song.
Boy Spyce’s artistic genius has been apparent ever since he graced the Nigerian music scene in 2022. His self-titled debut EP peaked at number one on the Nigerian Apple Music chart. His feature on the Mavin hit song “Overloading (Overdose)” further solidified his status as a musical prodigy. He was also named as one of the emerging artists to watch by Okay Africa in 2023. He is the mastermind behind crowd favorites like “Pepe”, “Folake” and “I Don’t Care” ft. Khaid, the latter of which was one of the most searched Nigerian songs on Google in 2024.
