What’s better than one Mavin on a song? All of them! (Or at least half, we’re not choosy). In-house projects and collaborations by members of the Mavin roster have been an industry staple for over a decade, producing some of Afrobeat’s most beloved hit songs. In celebration of Mavin’s 13th Anniversary and the Mavins hitting 1 MILLION followers on Spotify, we have curated a list of our favorite all-star tracks, past and present! Keep reading to find out if yours is at #1!
6. I’m a Mavin (feat. Wande Coal, Dr Sid, D’Prince & Tiwa Savage)
Before you read further, please click here to sign our petition to make this song the official national anthem. Listening to the track should be enough to convince and not confuse you, but if you still need some persuasion read on:
- First of all, who doesn’t want to be a Mavin? (Cue clip of Miranda Priestly from the Devil Wears Prada saying “Everybody wants this, everybody wants to be us”).
- Very presidential Don Jazzy beat that would sound incredible live
- Banging chorus that affirms our identity as superstars, champions and all-round geniuses
- Stellar Tiwa Savage verse, need we say more?
5. Alle- Rema & Ladipoe (feat. Bayanni, Crayon, Boy Spyce, Magixx & Ayra Starr)
At no. 5 we have “Alle”, the intro track off the Mavin Chapter X album. The new Gen Mavins really took us to church with this one. Johnny Drille & Sevn showed out with divine stylings on the instrumental, the boys all brought their A-game with top notch verses, and Ayra Starr continued the Mavin leading lady tradition of stealing the show with that celestial outro (vocal queen, don’t play!). Tens across the board for sure.
4. Adaobi (feat. Don Jazzy, Di’Ja, Reekado Banks & Korede Bello)
Doro fine girls come to the front! At no. 4 we have the absolutely smashing 2014 hit “Adaobi”. One thing about Nigerian artists, they love to name songs after beautiful women, and we the audience love to listen to songs named after beautiful women. Everybody wins!
P.S Adaobi if you’re reading this, PLEASE give us the formula. We’ve been looking for it for over a decade.
3. Won Da Mo- Rema & Boy Spyce (feat. Crayon, Bayanni, Magixx, Ladipoe, Ayra Starr & Johnny Drille
Between you and this author, this song deserves to be higher on this list based on the intro alone. (“Wake up in the morning, hallelujah, chasing the money, chasing the bag” is one of the most iconic song openers ever and you can take that to the bank!). From the hook to the Andre Vibez sponsored beat, this track is a certified banger. Cheers to hopping in all black Challengers and wiping our tears with currency (Preferably Rema’s)!

2. Overloading (Overdose)-Crayon & Ayra Starr [feat. Ladipoe, Magixx & Boy Spyce]
Arguably the Magnum Opus of the current Mavin roster, this classic definitely deserves a top 2 position on this list. Lives were changed, a ton of money was made, and summer 2022 was a blockbuster movie thanks to this irresistible earworm (you are all very welcome). Apart from going number one on the charts, “Overloading (Overdose)” also made a big splash at events and parties everywhere. You literally could not step foot out of your front door without hearing it. Talk about an overload!
1. Dorobucci (feat. Don Jazzy, Dr. Sid, Tiwa Savage, Reekado Banks, Korede Bello, Di’Ja)
When all is said and done, no-one is better than the original! What “Dorobucci” might lack in streams, it more than makes up for with sheer cultural impact and relevance. We all remember raving to this song at parties and putting “Doro” in front of our names even though none of us knew what the helly that meant (that’s what you call influence!). “Dorobucci” is legacy Afrobeats at its finest, and we can’t think of a better song to be at #1.
