Lagos, Nigeria, 29 August 2025-Rapper and singer Elestee releases her second single of the year “Designer Baby”. Her previous single “Space” feat. Ajebo Hustlers went on to become her most streamed song of her career so far, marking a huge milestone for the Port Harcourt bred musician.
Elestee’s new IT girl anthem “Designer Baby” is exactly as the name implies-flashy, fun and fly. Produced by Take a Daytrip, the track sees Elestee name drop several designer brands and muse about buying her dream outfits with a playful, infectious flair.
After a three-year stint in the academy that has birthed some of Africa’s biggest and brightest stars, Elestee was finally unveiled as Mavin’s latest signee in 2023. She marked this pivotal moment with the release of her self-titled debut EP, which was described by the Guardian as a testament to her “impressive range, artistic intelligence, and sonic talent”.
Showing no signs of slowing down, the Bonny Island Native released a follow up EP less than six months after her debut. “POISN” cemented Elestee as a true musical chameleon with a razor-sharp pen to boot. Her striking debut earned her a Rookie of The Year win at the 2023 Galaxy Awards, and she was recently named as part of the NME 100 emerging artists to watch in 2025.
