Rema Surprises Fans with Buzzy New Single “FUN”

Lagos, Nigeria, 5 September 2025-Grammy-nominated Afrobeats sensation Rema releases surprise new single “FUN”, shortly after dropping his summer rager “Kelebu”. This marks his fourth single of the year and signals a return to tamer climes after the viral dance craze inspired by “Kelebu”.

Rema’s “FUN” sounds exactly like what a lit night out in the streets of Lagos should feel like-immaculate vibes, drinks flowing, money going. Though the London-produced beat is an instant crowd mover, the lyrics are surprisingly introspective, reflecting the mindset of an eternal hustler-he may be outside having fun, but he has his eye on the prize at all times.

Since his debut in 2019, Rema has charted a steady course to world domination. His highly decorated discography has spawned an ample crop of global hits, including the biggest Afrobeats song of all time- “Calm Down ft. Selena Gomez.  Before “Calm Down” there was his inaugural hit song “Dumebi”, which earned him a coveted spot on Barack Obama’s summer playlist. Come 2023, he would rise to become the highest charting Afrobeats artist in Billboard Hot 100 history, a Guinness World Record Holder and the first African artist to have an album hit a billion streams on Spotify.

Rema continued to push the envelope relentlessly in 2024, setting a new standard with the release of his genre-defying sophomore album “HEIS”.  The record was received with critical acclaim and widespread international recognition, earning him a Grammy nomination for Best Global Music Album. 2025 has seen Rema ascend to greater heights with the release of his viral single “Baby (Is It a Crime)”, which remains the most streamed Afrobeats single of the year. He embarked on his prolific HEIS world tour soon after, becoming the youngest African act to sell out Madison Square Garden. With over 35 billion career streams under his belt-and all before the age of 25-Rema continues to assert himself as the undisputed leader of the Afrobeats new school.
