Lagos, Nigeria, Nov 7, 2025-Mavin producer JVXN releases debut single “Waka”, featuring singer-songwriter Deeno and industry pioneer Don Jazzy. This marks his first official single as a front-facing artist on the Mavin roster, preceded by production credits on the acclaimed Chapter X album.
Produced by JVXN, “Waka” blends native drums and flutes with the more modern elements of EDM, drum and bass, creating a fresh, dynamic track. The song is further bolstered by Deeno’s vivid storytelling and Don Jazzy’s timeless vocals—a perfect tune to mark the end of the year.
JVXN’s journey into music production began with his elder brother, who was a rapper. He would memorize and hum beats for him, which unknowingly trained his ear and laid the foundations for what is shaping up to be a fulfilling career in music. From attending studio sessions with his brother to tinkering with audio workstations on his laptop, JVXN continued to immerse himself in music and became a self-taught producer. He has since then developed a unique sound that can be described as a fusion of African pop rhythms, electronic textures, and cinematic orchestral layers.
In 2022, JVXN was signed to the Mavin roster as a producer. His most notable work so far are his contributions to the Mavin Chapter X album, on which he co-produced “Ogini Na Fio” and “You” alongside Don Jazzy-an experience he described as both “surreal and rewarding”.
